The Cloud Forest | Mashpi Lodge

Experience one of the top luxury lodges in the region, situated in the remote cloud forest on the western slopes of the Andes Mountains.

The Cloud Forest

5 days / 4 nights

The adventure starts venturing into the outer slopes of the Andes where a whole new world awaits you - a misty, forested realm filled with the vibrant colors and melodies of unbridled nature. These mystical "cloud forests" stretch across rolling hills, cascading into the Amazon Basin to the east and the Pacific Coast to the west. Every inch is draped in lush greenery, adorned with waterfalls and rivers that originate from the mountain glaciers, creating an oasis of exotic wildlife.

These cloud forests are also world-renowned for bird-watching, attracting bird enthusiasts with their diverse species - from green and multicolored toucans to dozens of types of hummingbirds. In fact, Ecuador boasts a greater diversity of bird species than North America and Europe combined, with the cloud forests alone accounting for a third of the country's total count.
